I'm sure if you loved Twilight, you watched New Moon over the Thanksgiving holiday.. I hope! if not, make sure you go see it asap. So my take on New Moon is that it was just what I expected it to be & more. I definitely think it was better than Twilight as far as the effects go (Edward's sparkling for example was awesome) & I'm not sure the dialogue was as good as Twilight's because it wasn't as funny as Twilight's lines went as far as I'm concerned. Of course, Jacob's transformation was leaving all of us girls in 'Ga Ga' mode, my goodness! I loved seeing him without his shirt on, not so much Edward, even though I'm TEAM EDWARD. I loved the Volturi cast.. the guy who plays Aro (Michael Sheen) is the same guy who plays the head werewolf (Lucian) in Underworld. I think he did excellent in his role & I can't wait to see him in the next 2 films. I'm sad that Rachelle Lafevre isn't going to be in Eclipse.. I think she is really good in her role as Victoria.
I've already seen the movie twice & it was just as good the second time around. I'm glad we didn't have to wait in line for a long time, I only waited 5 minutes. I was the first one there so I got to save my friends their seats until they got there. My friend Tania brought some wine, & it's actually called Twilight! I couldn't believe it. We had some Sprite & made wine spritzers. They were pretty tasty too, now I want to go to that store & find that wine.
Been listening to the soundtrack & I have a few favorite tracks. I wish that Rob Pattinson would've sung in this soundtrack like he did in the Twilight one, but oh well.
My faves are:
Hearing Damage - Thom YorkePossibility - Lykke Li
Satellite Heart - Anya Marina
I Belong To You - Muse
Roslyn - Bon Iver & St. Vincent
The Violet Hour - Sea Wolf

I have been meaning to get this movie on DVD for awhile, & since I had a $5 gift card from Amazon.com, well I bought it. I should get it soon since I got an email today saying it's been shipped. I think this one also comes with a digital copy for iTunes, which is neat cuz I can watch it anytime on my iPhone.
Speaking of my iPhone, about a week & a half ago I dropped it while I was working out at the gym & now the power button doesn't work. I basically can't power off my phone, can't lock it, & I can't take snapshots of my phone to send to my gallery if I ever wanted to do that & I only found out about it recently, so no more can do. I took it to the Apple Store & they said that I have to get a new phone, which is only $99 for the new iPhone 3G. I will probably save money & get it for myself for my birthday come October 27th. It will be a nice little present to myself.

I finished reading Straight Up & Dirty this weekend, & it was all I expected it to be & more. It felt good to learn about Stephanie's journey through her heartbreak from her divorce, the whole dating scene & learning to find yourself in the whole process. She was able to find what she loved doing without being in a relationship, whereas when she was in it, she never had enough time to invest into herself in order to find that.
She was hilarious because she kept things really straight up. I found myself laughing out loud in some parts & tearing up in the others. So it definitely shed some light on some things for me & I highly recommend it, even if you are not divorced, or going through what she went through, it's still a great memoir to read & see what she went through & accomplished.
Anywho, this weekend was a little odd for me because I kid you not, 4 of my girls went out of town. Selena is gonna be gone the longest so I'm gonna miss her for sure. She went to California to visit her brother who just had a baby with his wife. I can't wait until I get to finally go to California in November. So anyway, I ran some errands Saturday, cooked for myself & watched movies so it was a very relaxing weekend, needless to say.
I am going to submit my passport application today, so I'm really excited because I am going to Mexico in December! I already requested the time off, & I seriously can't wait. My friends & I are going so it's gonna be perfect.
Hope everyone had a great weekend <33
I don't even know where to begin with reviewing this movie. I definitely want to see it again. I wished that I wouldn't have read the book first though, because somehow I felt disconnected from the characters. I went with my friends, who were all crying hard during a few of the sad scenes & I couldn't cry! So frustrating. I don't even think I cried reading the book either, I just got teary eyed. Maybe it was the writing style, I have no clue.
I loved how close the movie was to the book. I already had in mind what scenes they were gonna leave out cuz I thought they were boring & made the book drag on so I was pretty pleased with the scenes they did keep & some that they added that were very creative. Rachel McAdams was flawless & just amazing playing Claire. Eric Bana, wow, what a nice body he has! haha. I liked how they kept him exactly how he was in the book, nude in his time travel.
I found it so admirable how these two were fighting to be with each other despite the obstacles they had with Henry's condition where he time travels without his controlling it. The movie did have some funny parts, especially at the wedding. I loved the whole concept of the time travel & I think even though it's an old concept, it was able to be made modern & it was all about love.
"I wanted someone to love who would stay: stay and be there, always." - Claire
I did cry at the very end though, so it's definitely a tear jerker, tragedy type of love story, which I am a sucker for. If you've seen it, what did you think about it? Have you read the book?
Saw Watchmen this past weekend. I think I should read the novel sometime because I noticed that people who read the novel loved the movie. I, on the other hand, was not walking away like, "wow, that was amazing!" LOL. I did like the action & the special effects, but I like substance in a story & this movie lacked that big time. I know the director Zack Snyder wanted to keep it close to the novel, but they could've expanded a little more on what happened during the falling out the Watchmen had with each other because all they showed was the aftermath, how they reunited or whatever. I love Jeffrey Dean Morgan in his role, albeit he was evil & crazy, I still loved him. I wanted to see more of him & I was disappointed that I didn't get to. Carla Gugino was great! she's a great actress & I wanted to see more scenes of her kicking butt or something, but it's all good. Laurie played by Malin Akerman (the girl Ben Stiller married in The Heartbreak Kid) was great! I loved her & she did a really fine job. My most favorite was Rorshach, he killed it! I liked how he drove us through the journey & he wrote in a journal so that's all good with me :) Patrick Wilson looked damn hot in his costume, but when he wasn't wearing his costume, I was like, "Eww, Laurie, what are you doing with him?" LOL. He was such a nerd.. he did a great job though. Dr. Manhattan played by Billy Crudup did well & omg, blue penis! haha, awesome.
Anywho, I know I've abandoned Vox & it's so hard to keep up with my blog here & then on Livejournal & then on my site! AAAHHH, too much to keep up sometimes.
I've been working out again.. this time I'm sticking to it cuz I want to shop for clothes soon & be a little more lean. I gained my weight back since I lost it in the fall & I can't have that. It helps that I'm broke & don't have enough right now to buy groceries, so I've been getting by here & there. I started a new job (I love it!) & so with the whole transitioning, I'm super broke. I can't wait for my first full check, I may do a little spending.
I'm still trying to get used to this daylight savings time, it's rough. I can't wait 'til Friday! That's all for now, until next time, peace!
I've been reading this book by Sophie Kinsella since the movie comes out next month on Feb 13th. I recently found out that the movie is also based on the book after this one, "Shopaholic Takes Manhattan", so I bought it on Amazon.com last week. It's been hard trying to keep up with my tv shows, plus movies, plus books. But, I'm having fun nevertheless.
I changed my Vox layout to The L Word! I've been watching Season 4 & about to start on Season 5 today. I'm quite sad that this 6th season will be the last season. I got into this show after my gay boyfriend, Roman, got me into it, hehe.
Recently, I discovered The United States of Tara! which is also on Showtime. They had a free episode on iTunes of the pilot. It's about a mother who has multiple personalities, & her family supports her & they try to live their lives as normal as they can. It's quite funny & Toni Collette plays the main character, or characters rather. She's truly remarkable & I also love that John Corbett is in it, he's so hot! hehe. I loved when he was in Sex & The City. He got a beer belly in this show though, haha.
I'm so happy LOST is back! I have yet to watch the first 3 episodes.. it sucks not having TV at home. Then again, I much rather watch the TV shows when they're out on DVD because you can watch it continuously & not have to wait a week for another episode.
I've actually been watching 24, on Fox. Mainly, because my apartments have a media center with surround sound & some people have arranged every week for us to meet there & enjoy it with some popcorn & snacks. The show goes by so fast though! it's unfair. I recently rented Mirrors, with Kiefer Sutherland. It was alright, I hated the ending though.
What TV shows are you tuning into?
..my poor little Vox, I know I've left you.. but I'm back for the meantime. I'm always all over Livejournal.
Seems like summer is almost over. Anytime that I want to go for a swim, it's sunny in the mornings & then when it's time to go, it gets cloudy & it rains :( I have been at my new apt for 2 weeks now & I have yet to enjoy the pool. I used the fitness center once that week I moved in, & I have yet to go back. I wanted to go last night but since I rented Premonition, I wanted to see it instead. That movie was just intense & I loved it. I wanna buy it soon. I love Sandra Bullock & Julian McMahon is soooo handsome, my goodness, God love him :) Watching him made me miss Nip/Tuck.
One week from today will be the auditions for American Idol! I kinda don't wanna go because it would be nice to have a friend come along with me, but most of them have to work. I'm gonna have to take my dog back to my mom's this weekend so she can watch him while I'm at that chaotic event. I've gone before in 03' & it was insane. It was quite the experience & I think I'm ready to tackle it on. I'm trying to decide what song(s) I wanna sing at the audition. I'm thinking Leann Rimes or Carrie Underwood.. or even Gloria Estefan..maybe Selena. Hopefully I'll figure something out by then.. or I'll ask the contestants what they're gonna sing, lol.
Happy Monday!
